happy new year

Last year, I made a layout about my New Year's resolutions and actually met about 80 percent of those goals. I decided to make another for 2015.

Started with a sketch from My Scraps & More. Papers and stickers are from Something Wonderful by Teresa Collins. Alpha stickers are from Authentique. Smile stamp is Studio G.

word.

My poor husband had a rough year in 2013. The bike incident was the second of two incidences that left him in the ER with broken bones.

Papers are from Chap by American Crafts. The journaling card is from Basic Grey.

daddy loves me

This layout was for a Progressive Challenge at Memorable Seasons in August but I had given up on Step 2. I lose. No points for me.

I finally finished it at a crop in October. I'm slow this year.
I'm pretty sure the papers are from Pink Paislee? I used Spellbinder dies to cut the ornaments, inked the edges, and finished with Diamond Stickles. The diamond shaped die cuts are leftovers from my Cricut days. I used a Micron pen to doodle some detail.

best game ever

Most papers are from Echo Park All Star Mini Theme. I used a die cut negative from Wendy to pen in the chevron arrows. The ruler is an old rub on from October Afternoon.

air mail

In the days of Skype and Facebook, I thought it would be interesting to document how my parents stayed in touch while my dad served in the Army. Phone calls were very expensive and there was no internet. They made audio tape letters and mailed them back and forth.

Papers are from FarmHouse Paper Company. Bits and pieces from Crate Paper and Basic Grey.

time with you

My son got a basketball goal from Santa for Christmas 2013. A couple of days after Christmas, I found Grammy and Grampy shootin' hoots with their grandson. They still got it!

Papers are from Fancy Pants, Echo Park (basketball), and American Crafts. The stickers are from Fancy Pants and Echo Park. The arrows were cut with my Silhouette.

My teaching partner needed a meaningful wedding gift. He had words of wisdom that he wanted to share with the groom and asked if I could make a keepsake. I picked Classic Editions papers for the masculine and household decor friendly colors. It's on CLEARANCE, y'all! Get it while you can.
In addition to the Classic Editions paper on the cover, I stamped over it with Feather Grass Flourish PreCut Set and heat embossed with a sparkly gold. The latches were die cut from Spellbinders Elegant Posts and the title piece was cut from Spellbinders Labels 4. I typed everything on the computer and printed onto cardstock and Classic Editions paper.

I made the pages 4x6 so it would be easy to print onto the Classic Editions papers.

Hello, Purple.
Papers and sentiment on the left are from Delicate Asters Paper Collection. The doily cuts are from Spellbinders. I cut the shape in half diagonally to make it fit with my rectangular stamp piece.

This Classic Rose stamp is retired *sigh*. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils to match the paper. Obviously, my eye really picked up the magenta tones. At first, I was nervous about how bright my roses looked but the Delicate Asters paper balanced it all out.

I made these flowers with the Delicate Asters stamps and dies.

I stamped these flowers on Delicate Asters paper. After cutting them, I sprayed them all with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist and sponged the edges with purple Distress Ink.

This layout started with a sketch from Citrus Twist. Really. That one. I mostly have American Crafts and Simple Stories going on here- RAKed to me from Wendy.

The die cut is a leftover from my Cricut days. The alphas are Simple Stories.

"Time with you" is a stamp from Pink Paislee.

The arrow paper is fussy cut from Simple Stories and the cloud is from MME. The star border stamp is Recollections from Michael's.

The vellum piece and button are from MME. The ticket is Maya Road.

Back to School

I've got a new homemade kit to share! This one features papers from FarmHouse, Authentique, and Basic Grey. Everything else is pulled from my stash and some items are leftovers from previous kits.

I started with a sketch from Citrus Twist. The background ledger paper is from Journey by Authentique. The scraps for layering are from Persimmon by Basic Grey, Simple Stories (Blue Skies), and Teresa Collins (library card).

Oh, look! I scribbled! Not sure how I feel about this trend. The enamel dots are from October Afternoon. The printed doily is from Maya Road and the brad is from American Crafts. "365 days of brilliant" stamp is from Citrus Twist.

The 123 chipboard is from Crate Paper and was RAKed to me from Wendy. The wood paper frame is also from Crate Paper and the little card is Maya Road.

He makes my heart go pitty pat. As a teacher, this is how I felt about the first month of school. It's like a self portrait.

The chipboard with hearts is from Crate Paper. I love hearts.

Enamel dots AND scribbling.

I never get tired of these bingo cards from Simple Stories. The clip chipboard is another piece from Crate Paper.

Homemade Kits

The internet is brimming with opportunities to join some seriously awesome scrapbooking kit clubs. But, if you're like me, your own shelves are brimming with opportunities to start your own personal kit club.

Back in 2013, somewhere between participating at Counterfeit Kits and DT work with Memorable Seasons, I fell in love with shopping from my own stash and creating my own kits. After awhile, I developed a system that included pruning from 6 different places in my creative space. These places include paper, stamps, and different types of embellishments. I loaded up 12x12 craft envelopes and little zipper bags to contain all of my rediscovered goodies.

This summer, I joined Scrap Stash Kit Club on Facebook and found even more inspiration for creating kits. I'm using this space to share my August Surf's Up Kit inspired by Scrap Stash Kit Club.

You might have seen it a few times over the last month.

I made 3 layouts and 3 cards before I finally ran out of usable paper. I had about 3 full sheets of 12x12 left, but I'm confident that I'm done with these collections for layouts. So, I cut everything down to 6x6 and filed it along with my 6x6 pads for future cards.

you are my favorite

I started with this homemade Mostly MME Kit for today's layout.

And some dimensional stickers.

The background papers are from Indie Chic by My Mind's Eye.

The yellow scalloped border was cut from Plantin Schoolbook/Cricut. The sentiment is from Simple Stories. The calendar tag is from So Sophie by MME and the brads are from Stella and Rose. The ruler stamp is from Collectable.

The "hello" tab is from Stella and Rose and the journaling tag is from So Sophie. The pop of red landed on this layout by accident. So glad it did! Really works for me :) I think the red paper is from Scenic Route.

The library card is from Collectable. I wish I had a dozen more of those! The polaroid frame is from Maya Road and the brad is from Stella and Rose.

Yummy brads! I use brads on everything.
