Compare and Contrast

Krissy came over for a croppin' good time a few weeks ago. She brought along a great sketch from Pagemaps and I decided I wanted to use it, and then see how different our LOs are.

Hers. Outstanding, right?

The sketch.

A Teacher Gift and Christmas Cards

I've seen these little backpacks around in my favorite galleries and finally had the perfect occasion for it. I made one with a little card for my son's teacher for Teacher Appreciation. Boy, oh boy, we just LOVE her! I found a tutorial over at SCS. It is so easy!! I didn't even print the instructions and it took me less than two hours. The card is tiny and simple. It was a little mind-boggling to design such a tiny card.

I hand wrote the sentiment on the card "You measure up." The fun measuring tape ribbon is by Buttons Galore, got it from HL. The pp are all DCWV.

Wanna see more samples? I always loved this one by Eggette. This one by Pojjo has lace and flowers. Mommy2blueeyes made great use of Coredinations cardstock and distressing.

Christmas Cards.

I just didn't have enough last year so I'm trying harder this year.

I followed a sketch by cardabilities. The papers are from Fruitcake by BG and the sparkly red is MME. The book plate is by Fancy Pants and the vintage label is by MM. That is machine stitching on the edges.

This adorable image is by Penny Black. I colored with pencils. I actually colored the hedgehog over a year ago and I'm not entirely sure what I used. Topped the snow and stars with stickles and chalked blue for the background. I also dabbed the blue chalk on the stickly snow. The hedgehog is cut out and pop dotted. The circle and scallops were cut with the Expression.

On this one, I also pop dotted his little hand/star. More work but I like it even better!

In the end, I think my tree coloring needs work. The trees definitely need to be darker. And topped with a little more sparkle.

I always appreciate my visitors!

Baseball: Having Fun in my Undies

I'm the Sunday Feature for Crop Chocolate today!

I have an updated LO.

From this.

To this.

I loved the pictures and wanted to redo the LO. I'm one of THOSE scrapbookers. I tried to rescue the photos but they wrinkled and got damaged when I pulled them off the LO so I reprinted them. In different sizes and in black and white. My BFF came over last night to scrap and brought along a sketch from Pagemaps and I suggested we both follow the sketch and see how different our LOs are.

I reused the title and journaling block from the first LO. I updated it with inking, pen lining, and crackle accents.

I also reused these buttons from the first LO. The banner rub on is by Pink Paislee

The BG Fruitcake papers are from the first LO. I added this bit of MME and used an EK Success border punch, RAK'd to me by Kristin.

Christmas meets baseball. The die cut is a leftover from some long ago project. The papers are scraps from the first LO.

Birthday Card and New Addition to My Studio

I found this adorable pre-colored digi at paperprintables. It's the perfect image for my friend who LOVES to bake cakes. In fact, she made a topsy turvy cake for my halloween party last fall. I followed a sketch by Mojo Monday.

I accented the image with Glossy Accents, stickles, and a glaze pen.

The pink ribbon is SU, I think. I scored a ton of it at a yard sale last year. The clip is from Recollections and the sentiment stamp is Hero Arts. The tag punch is Fiskars and the eyelet is MM. The tag is tied to bow with baker's twine from The Girl's Paperie.

My New Studio.
The dining room has officially become my "studio." We only need it to be a dining room twice a year so... why not?!! We finally replaced our tube TVs with flat screens and this bulky entertainment center was just sitting in the middle in the front living room. I had ambitious plans to sell it. Listed it dirt cheap on CL but no one was interested. Yesterday, I got a wild hair to move this and that and make this piece of furniture a staple in my scrap space. I was able to move tons of my stuff out of the tiny office.

Oh, my paper. Most of it.

I turn the CH over on their sides so that I can pull my papers straight out.

Six 12x12 drawers full of stamping supplies.

Binders full of clear stamps, dies, stamped images, and extra die cuts.

Kits.

The Expression. It is on the bottom shelf so I have to sit on the floor the use it. The floor doesn't scare me and I've already used it twice in the last 24 hours. It used to stay on my table which meant I had to clear my current project/mess out of the way to use it.

My antique buffet (from CL) and the spread of Distrezz-It-All, heat gun, Gypsy, sewing machine, and Cuttlebug. The Cuttlebug was down in the cabinet but I love that I can keep it out now! I use it all the time with my Spellbinders.

Whimsy Stamps

The digis in today's post are Whimsy Stamps. I bought some last month and I love them!

Colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits.

Left: Prismcolors. Right: Loew-Cornell

Left: Blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits.

I followed a sketch from the archives over at Mojo Monday. Papers are by MME. Border punch by EK Success. The date postage is by MM and matted on a postage die cut from my Expression, Sentimentals.

Accented the image with stickles and a sparkle pen. I used blue chalk on the background for all three images in this post.

I always line the inside of the my cards. Here, I also added a holiday sentiment.

Papers by MME and Anna Griffin. Ribbon is BG. Brads by BG and Sassafras.

I accented the image with stickles.

Papers by K and Company.

Accented with stickles on the flowers and Glossy Accents on the buttons.

Green flower by The Girl's Paperie. The little flowers are white Flower Doodles and glimmer misted with Starfish. Bead trim from HL. I used glossy accents to beat it into submission.

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby and Flowers

I feel really good about the baby card stash I've built up. Can't wait to gift them next year!

Quilted Horse.
Papers from Grandma's Kitchen by WRMK and Fine and Dandy by MME. I love Fine and Dandy! I could eat it. I followed a sketch from the archives at Mojo Monday. Accented the card with a ribbon/bow by Prima and machine stitching.

This adorable digi is by Beccy. I've been having fun with her images lately! Colored with Prismacolor, Staedtler and Loew-Cornell pencils. I didn't get the coloring right but it's still good enough for a card so I used it anyway. I do have great intentions to do it again. After coloring, I cut it out with Cutterbee scissors and popdotted to a Spellbinders cut mat.

And three little yellow brads.

Baby Girl.
Papers from Life is Good by EP.

This adorable digi is by Bugaboo Stamps. Colored with Prismacolor pencils. I got a little... adventurous with the shading here. I do like how her skin and bottle turned out. On the bottle, I used a really pale grey/green and white.

Accented with three little pink brads and machine stitching. The trim is by Prima.

Bucket of Flowers.
I wish I had a green thumb so I could have things like this sitting around my yard. Some day. The papers are from Garden Variety/Material Girl by Cosmo Cricket. Ribbon from Chelsea's Place by MM.

Another digi by Beccy! I do like the way the bucket turned out. Everything else has... potential. Colored with Loew-Cornell pencils.

Machine stitching and three little rose gold brads.

So I had strips of scraps ready for the paper recycling when I got an idea! *lightbulb* I decided to use the pieces to decorate the inside matting. Ta Da! I used this idea for all three cards in this post.

Thanks for visiting!
