This layout is for Carol's August 9 Design Challenge. I started with my August kit and used the chalk stickers, red cardstock, little alpha stickers, and paper from The Pier by Crate Paper. The "7" was punched from Travel Girl paper by October Afternoon. All of the other papers are an assortment of American Crafts "Junior" and "Heat Wave" and Sassafras "Sunshine Broadcast." The "memo" label is from Collectibles by MME. The bracket sticker is by Sassafras. The cloud punch is Fiskars and the decorative border punch is Martha Stewart. The word stickers are by Authentique. "Life is Good" was die cut from Graphically Speaking and the "beach" alphas are American Crafts. The circle die cut is from Maggie Holmes by Crate Paper and the gems are from Webster's Pages.

This layout is for Tami's #2 Challenge. I started with my August kit which includes The Pier by Crate Paper. I followed a sketch by Scrap Friends.

For the Challenge:

1. Use papers by two different manufacturers: I used The Pier by Crate Paper, Here and There by Studio Calico, and Travel Girl by October Afternoon.

2. Two word title: "looky here" alphas by American Crafts.

The yellow hearts were stamped with acrylic paint. I created the array with stamps by Fancy Pants "Fresh Mod." The speech bubbles were die cut from Studio Calico paper with my Expression. The notebook edge punch is by Fiskars. "This way to fun" is a stamp by Scrappy Cat.

This layout is for Laura C's Stamping Challenge. I started with my August kit which included The Pier by Crate Paper. I followed Sketch #137 from Sketchabilities.

For the Challenge:

1. Stamp the background: I used a scalloped stamp from Fine and Dandy by MME to add a bit of border detail.

2. Stamp an embellishment: The speech bubble with the heart is a stamp by Studio G. I also stamped sentiments on sticker labels by Crate Paper. Those stamps are MME and 7Gypsies.

3. Stamp a letter in the title: "MIMI" alphas are from a set by My Sentiments Exactly called "Retro."

The cameras, journaling tag, and the grey/blue polka dot papers are all from Travel Girl by October Afternoon. The border punch is EK Success. The clouds and scalloped heart punches are Fiskars.

what i love about you

Still enjoying my crafty spring break. I cooked yesterday but I didn't commit to a workout. Bah. Today! Really.

My Mind's Eye is having a Die Cut Challenge. I followed this awesome sketch by Jill for inspiration.

Most of the papers here are from American Made by MME. The wood grain paper is from Miss Caroline Dilly Dally. The checkered and polka dot paper (the little cloud) are from Complete Boy. The "Noted" spot is a sticker from Lime Twist.

 "my boy" is a stamp from Fine and Dandy (probably my favorite all time MME collection). The die cut might be Stella and Rose? Can't remember. I cut it apart but used both pieces on the layout. "What I Love About You" is the other part of that die cut. The ticket is from Lime Twist.

The blue buttons are from Stella and Rose. I added a little stitching for texture. The floss is by Making Memories. "Little Old Soul" was made with my Dymo Labeler. Love that thing. My little boy has been referred to as "an old soul" by several people. He loves adults.

So, making those straw post lookin' things was an adventure. I rolled up plain printer paper and wrapped the rolls in decorative tape. The die cut ziggy things are from Stella and Rose. The 7 is a sticker from Lime Twist.

I do love clouds on my boy layouts! These were made with Fiskars punches. The largest is outlined with a Signo pen and the other two with silver Stickles.

happiness is...

I had a wonky whale of a time getting good pictures of my layout today. Or I'm getting super picky. Or my eyeballs are failing.

I do like the layout. Once again, Artful Delight offers up a sketch that understands me and my style. Anytime I want to participate in a challenge, Artful Delight is the first place I visit.

Of course, I took the clean and simple sketch and totally junked it up- Alissa style.

My sister Vivian took this awesome photo of me and my little boy last summer.

Everything except the letter stickers came from my Counterfeit Kit for March. The papers are from Ad Lib by BoBunny. The polaroid journaling spot was cut from paper by American Crafts. The doodled box with a heart in it is a rub on by Fancy Pants.

The banner sticker is from Sassafras. I used a Micron pen to scatter my journaling on the layout.

"so sweet" is a stamp from Fine and Dandy by My Mind's Eye. The brad on the right is from Ad Lib by BoBunny.

Here's my layout for Pamela's World of Scrap. I turned it and adjusted a bit for some negative space. 

I used my Counterfeit Kit for March.

The papers are all by American Crafts. I love the solid color on one side! The "home run," flair, chipboard cloud, and star stickers are all by American Crafts. The polaroid tag was cut from AC paper. Ain't it cute?!! The cloud stamp and "fun under the sun" sentiment is from Prairie Hill by Pink Paislee. The banner sticker is by Sassafras.

I have a long list of cards I'm supposed to be working on this weekend but I got distracted by a really cool sketch at Scrap Friends.

I actually started a layout years ago about the fun ways my toddler son said things. You know, his "toddler speak." I never finished the layout but I was very grateful that I had a nice working list of his language. I definitely would have forgotten some of them.

The papers are from Sam's Collection by Scribble Scrabble, a discontinued manufacturer. I only had three sheets and was a little worried about getting a whole layout done. I definitely used all three sheets! I used a stamp from Fresh Mod by Fancy Pants on the background. Those 12x12 sets originally cost $40 but I found two sets for $20 at an Archiver's clearance sale! Impulse shopping at it's finest, wouldn't you say?

Lots of different brands going here. The label sticker is Crate Paper and the bar code thingy is a rub on from Close to My Heart. There's a grungeboard heart and a chipboard accent from Wild Saffron by K and Company. I punched the hearts with some old Sizzix paddle punches. The ephemera card is 7Gypsies and the journaling card is by October Afternoon. The clear ledger piece is by May Road and the "You Said What" title piece was cut from a journaling tag by My Mind's Eye. I think the monster is from Recollections.

The tab is by Crate Paper and the arrows are rub ons from Rough and Tough by Fancy Pants.

Some details. I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the grungeboard hearts. The little doodled rectangles are from Rough and Tough by Fancy Pants.

HAPPY

It's been a long week but with a perfect ending. Last night, my dear Krissy came over and we laughed and talked and pushed around our scrapbooking supplies.

We're both big suckers for any and all My Mind's Eye products so we often troll their blog for challenges. They always post awesome sketches!

I just LOVE the February Sketch. Anything with 3 photos is perfect for my style. And, it turns out, that I got this done just in time for the Gossamer Blue/My Mind's Eye Guest Designer Contest. I'd never heard of Gossamer Blue kits before but they are AWESOME!

What do you think of the journaling on the edges of the layout?

I used papers from Stella and Rose "Mabel." The sticker with the orange border is from Fly A Kite. The chipboard button is a piece from Crate Paper. I don't have any mustaches in my stash (hehe) so I printed some free ones. I fussy cut the mustache and cleaned it up with a black Memento marker and some Basic Grey file tools. The button with twine is a random bit leftover from a previous project.

The "silly" chipboard is by Crate Paper. The journaling tag is by Sassafras. The background border stamp is from Miss Caroline by My Mind's Eye. If Krissy had a dollar for every time I say, "I need an alien to tie the whole look together," she could retire early. This felt alien sticker is from Sassafras.

The chipboard frame is from Crate Paper. The sentiment piece is from Stella and Rose by My Mind's Eye. The large brad is from the Robotz collection by MME. The two smaller dots are chipboard punched from the button I used at the top of the page.

Here is my kit for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge for February.

I packed it full of stamps and stickers!

A couple of weeks ago, I came home from work and found my husband and son showing off brand new rollerblades. You won't catch me in those things! A couple of days later, I asked my husband if he planned to rollerblade that day and he said, "I don't think I'm getting off this couch today." That was fine with me. He did a stellar job of picking up the house the day before.

Around 3 pm, he grew a wild hair and decided to go rollerblading. He told me he really wanted Chance to learn something and stick to it. So, out they went. I followed along behind and took video and pictures. I finally had to go back inside to tend to the kitchen.

The doorbell rang.

A stranger had to scoop my husband out of the road. He fell and broke his wrist! 

And off to the ER we went.

I followed the February Sketch at Artful Delight. The papers are from Grease Monkey by BoBunny. I used inks and masks by Tim Holtz on the background as well as Glimmer Mist. The border punch is by EK Success.

I must say, I'm not BoBunny's biggest fan. I find that I'm rather clumsy with their products. I have no idea why. I tried to make this LO edgy and grungy and I think it falls a little flat. Oh, well!

I love these alpha stamps by My Sentiments Exactly. They're among my oldest supplies and have withstood many supply purges. I don't use them often but when I do they sure make me happy.

Here we have an assortment of Sticko stickers and brads and a chalkboard sticker by Pink Paislee. "I do all my own stunts" is a clear sticker from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby.

I followed this month's sketch by Artful Delight. I had it done in time for the contest, but didn't get to blog it in time. You know, my husband decided to take up roller blading... and he fell... broke a wrist. Yeah, blogging just wasn't on my radar for a few days. Oh, well. I'm glad to share it now!

The papers are from Generation Z by Little Yellow Bicycle. It was great to get out some old stuff! I didn't do anything really special on this page. Added my usual brads, rub ons, journaling, and monsters. I've been keeping my LOs pretty simple these days. The change is nice!

our big adventure

I love this LO by Charlotte that was featured on The Urban Scrapbook blog. I found it because I was looking for inspiration using this specific paper: Genuine by Authentique. When looking for inspiration, I tend to start from a variety of places: event, photo, sketch, scraplift, and paper.

The papers on this LO ended up being a combination of Genuine by Authentique and Vintage Blue by Glitz. The stickers and cork embellishments are from Little Yellow Bicycle, Pink Paislee, and Simple Stories. For my banners, I stamped with Script by Inkadinkado on the Authentique paper.

I just love this layout by Missy Whiden. I only just noticed that she followed this sketch by Artful Delight. I love their sketches! Their kits are awesome, too.

The background is kraft cardstock by Recollections from Michael's. The patterned papers are a joyful mix of Sassafras Lass and Echo Park. The ringed circles were stamped with orange acrylic paint- the stamp is from Doodles by Claudine Hellmuth. I loved how Missy used handstitching, something I haven't done in a long time so I definitely wanted to try it again. The texture is just awesome! I used a Sassafras Lass journaling tag up in the left. I think it looks a little awkward but just haven't been motivated enough to change it.

My child really does have an art easel. However, he chose to tape his paper to the wall... probably because it's only three feet from his crafting Mommy :)

I was thrilled how quickly I put this together this morning. I was in a hurry to take pictures and whatnot. I got it all on my blog and decided it was BORING. 

So, from this ^

Followed an awesome sketch from Boys Rule.  The papers are from Gathering by Authentique. I pulled all that I had off my shelves but ended up only using the scraps!

I love the banner idea on the sketch. I just punched a couple of circles, cut them in half, and inked with Vintage Photo. My sewing machine needs therapy so I used rub on stitches from DCWV.

I had these die cut hexagons left over from a previous project so I added them to this LO. Fun! This is one current trend that I really like! I foam dotted a few of them and inked all the edges. "Snapshots" is a sticker from This and That Charming by Echo Park.

Technically, this star doesn't match but I like it anyway. It was RAKed to me by Jenifer. The banner sticker is from Simple Stories.

The journaling sticker is from October Afternoon, Farm Fresh I think. This LO is about the time I was away for a few days and my boys were alone. My husband made cinnamon rolls (and then probably fell asleep on the couch but denies it), and he later discovered this plate full of rolls with the sweet tops chewed off! LOL He took a picture with his phone and sent it to me. It made me smile all over my face!

"Chipmunk" letters are by Authentique. The "chance" chipboard was RAKed to me by Jenifer, as well. Perfect since my little guy's name is Chance!
